White Wires- III LP. Here it is, the 3rd album from Ottawa Ontario's the White Wires, and it's their best one yet! Confident, heart-felt, refreshingly irony-free poppy rock ‘n roll that's just rules. These 14 tracks indicate their priorities towards punchy pop-infused, ‘60s garage rock meets ‘90s budget rock, and God damn do they know how to write a catchy song. They don’t bog it down with anything unnecessary, which I think is the key. Completely pop-infused numbers that have this great jangle to them with just the right amount of bass, treble and assertive drumming in the production, birthing some of the most infectiously catchy songs. The song writing on this album is a little more mature sounding than their last album and the mid-tempo poppy rock ‘n roll A side snagged me hook, bassline and sinker. The flip continues with pop confection with a mid-fi punk edge and more attention-grabbing bass playing. Good songs, good sound, good record from members of Peach Kelli Pop, the Sedatives and Uranium Comeback. Recommended.
