Uniplux- 1981 LP ~UNEARTHED RECORDINGS!
Uniplux- 1981 LP. Wow, what a find. Rave Up Records has discovered an entire unreleased punk rock album from Italian legends Uniplux! Uniplux were one of the few bands from the early days of the Roman punk scene that included bands like Trancefusion, Elektroshock, Luxfero, Ulster Punk Group, Bads, Stigma and Ddt. The scene is pretty well documented in Claudio Pescetelli’s magnificant book “Lo Stivale e’ Marcio” that disects the pioneering days of the first wave of Italian punk rock. Uniplux released two classic 7”’s in all. The first being ‘Chi Siamo Noi?’ released in 1982 on RCA followed by their second single ‘Maledetto rock’ released two years later in 1984 on Pogo Records. Both records are very hard to find, mainly because the original singles were released in smaller quantites and the RCA single was never repressed. Uniplux offered a unique vision of melodic punk rock and in 1997, a bunch of european punk collectors compiled ‘Killed By Death 201’ which was dedicated to the Italian punk scene from 1977 - ‘82. They rightfully included one of Uniplux’s best songs “U.X.” to represent the band and an alternate take of that song is included on this LP. What we have here is a completely unearthed album from Uniplux including 11 killer songs that are finally seeing the light of day. This is amazing Italian punk rock with female vocals for fans of Generation X, Buzzcocks, Penetration and X-Ray Spex. Import from Italy.
