Trash Knife- S/T 7”.  Man, what is it with Philly lately? How many good records have came out of there in the last few months? Trash Knife are one of those bands that's probably a bit too catchy and major-key-oriented to be quickly described as hardcore, but they're also way too mean and aggressive to be mistaken for poppy punk. Thanks to the snarling lady on the mic, I'd put this in the same camp as bands like Neighborhood Brats, Bad Daddies, and No Love. In other words, it's punk that's informed by the intensity and straightforward pop-oriented songwriting of 90s riot grrrl stuff, but also by the manic tempos and musical complexity of the last decade or so of DIY hardcore. Fun six song banger if you’re into stuff like Frau, Good Throb and the like. Import from Germany.

The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs- One More Drink LP ~RAINBOW SPLATTER SPECIAL EDITION LIMITED TO 100!

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
