You can tell The Claws love The Rolling Stones, New York Dolls and all the good things affiliated with seedy, gutter-dwelling rock n’ roll! The Claws belt out quite the rock ‘n roll ruckus following in the footsteps of the Rolling Stones, KISS, the Black Crowes, solo Keith Richards and Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds. “Down In The City” opens the album in a Stones / Quireboys sorta way with the guitar solos sounding like good old American rock n’ roll. “High Noon” has a bit of a disco rock vibe which sounds like a cross between The Rolling Stones “Miss You” and KISS’ “Unmasked” era. Singer Chad Cherry’s voice fits perfectly with the 70s rock n’ roll guitars and dusty riff rock songwriting even when they slow things slow down on songs like “A Song For You”. And “In The Dust” should be a hit on every radio station in a perfect world. If you love trashy rock n' roll with swagger and style, it doesn’t get much better than this. Recommended.
