The Sufis second album ‘Inventions’ sees them stepping into an even more ambitious, psychedelic direction invigorating the surrealist whimsy of Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd set to their own poppy rock ‘n roll template. They know when to pop it up like on songs like ‘Most Peculiar Happening Cat’ that’s an unpolished diamond that bears shades of The Beatles with gorgeous vocal harmonies, punctuating guitars and an abrupt ending that sneaks up when you least expect it.
