Proton Packs- Space Opera LP.  Do you ever buy records just because the cover is cool? Well this is totally one of those records. The cover is so cool, you just know that that the band has to deliver musically, and they do. Italy’s Proton Packs embark on a tall task to make a "concept album". Yes, ‘Space Opera’ is a record that revolves around the adventures of the foolhardy Adam Gunn and his beloved Evelyn in the interstellar struggle to save the galaxy from the glacial Skultron robots and their evil Black Hole Maker. And that impeccable cover art by Riccardo Bucchioni really helps pulls their concept together nicely. A sort of Italian Star Wars themed record that they totally manage to pull off. Musically, they bring some super catchy punk rock to the table that reminds me alot of the Lillingtons, and a bit like the Leeches, Groovie Ghoulies and mid period Queers. Good song writing with catchy choruses and a nice, bouncy 1234 Ramones strut. The LP includes a two sided insert and a sticker and these are LIMITED TO ONLY 150 COPIES! Import from Italy.
