Hickoids/Grannies- Split LP. This is a story about a young man from Boston and another from Austin. Sluggo from Hullabaloo and Jeff from the Hickoids would run into each other sharing stages across the US in the late ‘80's. Time marched on as Sluggo relocated to the Bay Area and started The Grannies and Jeff stayed in Texas and kept the Hickoids going. An idea was hatched to rekindle those old touring memories and the Grannies and Hickoids booked a European tour to celebrate the good ‘ol days on the road. This LP is a souvenir of the two bands' recent rampage across Europe. The Hickoids kick this sucker off with a ruckus of guitar swill and with legendary vocalist Jeff Smith’s unique blend of sophisticated dementia and melody. Their wacked out blend of cowpunk and rock ‘n roll still continues to impress. On the flip, the Grannies mix the three-chord snot punk of G.B.H. with the in-your-face danger of the Dwarves and they belt out 7 heavy hitters. If you missed one of the shows on their European tour, nows your chance to snag a copy as these are from the hard to find Euro tour edition limited to 300 copies on opaque red wax.
