Frankie Virtue And The Virtues- Penn State Twist 7”.  Frankie Viruge was a founding member of the American rock 'n' roll band The Virtues from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who had a really big hit in 1958 called "Guitar Boogie Shuffle". Towards the end of 1962, Virtue disbanded the group and pursued a career as a record producer and recording engineer. His studio, Virtue Recording Studios (located at 1618 N. Broad St.), was one of the top studios in Philadelphia for a number of years until closing in the early 1980's. His studio left its mark by recording dozens of bands including some big names as well as cutting lacquers for the likes of Link Wray, Frankie Avalon, Fabian and even the Beatles on Swan Records. This single includes two songs from Frankie Virtue And The Virtues recorded at the peak of their career near the tail end of 1959.
