Brad Marino- False Alarm 7".  Second 7" from the Connection singer/guitarist Brad Marino stepping away from the Connection and killin’ it on his own. Marino continues to blur the line between timeless Rock ‘n Roll and perfect Power Pop on his newest record. This 3 song banger is what 7" records are all about: you drop the needle on the vinyl, and it's instant magic. "False Alarm" is a rocker with hooks that will have you playing the song on repeat. It's a tune about lingering heartbreak, which sounds like a bummer until you actually hear the song. The guitars sound simply amazing, those backing vocals are spot-on and Marino proves to be an amazing vocalist and a very clever wordsmith! And I love how a lot of the little details push this song over the top. Track 2 "At Night" hits that Rock 'n' Roll High School era Ramones sweet spot - which has proven to be a Marino specialty. And he closes the 7" with a fantastic rendition of The Hoodoo Gurus classic "What's My Scene" that’s endorsed by fellow Guru Dave Faulkner himself. If you love upbeat, hard-driving Power Poppy Rock ‘n Roll this record is for you. Recommended.
