Baseball Furies- All American Psycho LP. Finally a reissue of some of the best Baseball Furies material recorded that the band intended to be the the Furies first LP, but ended up getting split into two records: the "Sounds of Mayhem" 7" on Big Neck and the 10" on Flying Bomb. If you just picked up on the Baseball Furies with 'Greater than Ever' or 'Let it Be', you owe it to yourself to go back and live through this stuff; it’s killer. Younger, rawer and faster, these tunes show these young dudes blasting through twelve tracks, some that careen by at Henry Fiats Open Sore / Retards-like velocity ("Filthy Fun" and "Murder Solution") and some ("Black Eyed Woman" and "The Last Man") that show their more refined Dead Boys-ish punk rock side that they perfected on the later LP's. Pre-Billiams drummer Dapper does good work here, the guitar sound is blistering and Odie's violent yelp in near perfection. The song topics include the standards: violence, cheap sex, and cheaper living and these are the songs that helped garner the band a bigger recongnition early on including label-dudes like Tim Warren and Greg Lowery. If you don't have this shit on vinyl already, invest now, as this LP contains no less than a dozen cuts of classic late-Nineties garage-punk punch. THESE ARE COPIES ON THE LIMITED OPAQUE RED WAX!
