The Skywalkers- Rosa 7”.  The Skywalkers are a Dutch duo formed by the ultra talented Jacco Gardner and Hugo Van de Poel. ‘Rosa’ contains two songs from their pretty rare ‘Year One’ LP, but The Skywalkers decided to rework the original version to give them a different feel. On side A, we got “Rosa”, a lysergic beat ballad which in its new form, has an extra point of sweetness. The voices sound almost heavenly and wrap the minimalist instrumentation with an exubertant touch of class. It’s almost impossible not to let the song take you away while you listen to this little crown jewel of garage pop. On the flip side we find “Creature of the Night”, a haunting freakbeat dancer with the hypnotic presence of philicorda organ, the Skywalkers trademark. It’s a little more pop than the previous version and a sure to be uptempo psyche pop dancefloor hit. Side A is definately worth it for the price of admission alone.
