The Peace- Black Power CD ~REISSUE!
The Peace- Black Power CD. The musical style that became known as Zamrock came to embody the economic despair that followed the 1973-1974 oil crisis, which flung Zambia into a recession and exacerbated a wider range of social tensions. Much of Zamrock also captured the controversy of wider politics in Africa and the world. And perhaps the finest example of Zamrock music is Black Power by The Peace. Originally released in 1975 and bootlegged on a very small pressing years later, 'Black Power' is one of the rarest and most sought-after psychedelic albums of 1970s African music. Recorded by The Peace at Malachite Film Studio circa 1973/74, ‘Black Power’ is one of those strange afro/rock/psych marvels — in the same way as those from bands such as Witch and Amanaz. Nowhere to be found then and now carefully reissued on this stellar sounding compact disc.

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
