The Blessings- Shipwrecked CD.  Third release from The Blessings and this is a good one. ‘Shipwrecked’ is a wonderfully coherent set of well-crafted tunes that chug, slide, shuffle and Rock; leaving no doubt why they're one of L.A.'s best bands. Their blend of British Invasion and American Rock ‘n Roll utilizes a bit of Country, a little Blues and alotta good riffy Rock ‘n Roll played with an energized barroom swagger that keeps things honest while the styles of the songs strongly reflect the bands that influenced them. Namely some of my faves including early Stones, Faces, the Black Crowes, Tom Petty and Chuck Berry. But what counts is what you do with your influences and the Blessings are able to shake it up enough into a strong yet tasty sonic tonic.  Fans of the Sweet Things, Dr. Boogie, the Claws or any of the aforementioned bands won’t be disappointed.  Recommended.

The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs- One More Drink LP ~RAINBOW SPLATTER SPECIAL EDITION LIMITED TO 100!

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
