Spasms- Return Of The Spud Gun Kids CD ~REISSUE / ‘77 - ‘82 RECORDINGS!
Spasms- Return Of The Spud Gun Kids CD. Four bored teenagers from Tupton in Chesterfield got together in the late 70s in order to make an impression and to be heard in the ever depressing back drop of the dull and dreary Britain. Punk was happening in all the major cities of the UK but Tupton was miles away from where it all was happening. Not to be deterred, they got their act together and start playing all the local haunts. A few months later they ventured into a studio and recorded a few tracks. Two of which would be brought out as the bands debut single ‘It Never Happens Like It Does On The Telly’ in a pressing of only 500 copies on the highly collectable ‘Ellie Jay’ label. That single has now become a quite highly prized possession in all punk record collector circles all around the world! The band set about promoting the single but sadly caused an uproar in and around their area by playing loud and raucous music that people didn’t understand at the time. They were banned from the Station Hotel in Alfreton as they had upset the country & western singer who was performing down stairs; a near riot happened at the Barrow Hill Memorial Club and to top it all off, the local pub banned them for unacceptable behaviour! Punk rock! This stellar reissue includes 14 studio tracks that were recorded between 1978 - 1982 when this was all happening and includes the two tracks from their highly collectible and long out of print debut 7”. These are limited to only 200 copies and the reissue also includes a detailed 8 page booklet documenting the bands history. Import from the UK.

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
