Rhythm Checkers- 1966 / 67 Wild Raw Eurobeat LP.  The Rhythm Checkers were an exceptional beat band from France playing a raw mixture of rhythm and blues and rock and roll with a wild garage edge. Many see them as the European Sonics, the Rhythm Checkers formed by musicians native to France, Germany and Holland setting the stage on fire during their wild shows in France between 1966 and 1967. It‘s in Strasbourg where The Rhythm Checkers released their first EP ‘Cause I Need You’ which is a supremely hard hard to find classic of the European garage rock scene. Their second 7” is a unique document of their stage savageness thanks to these recordings captured live when they opened for Chuck Berry in February of 1967 in Paris. The eight mythical tracks from those two super rare records are presented on this LP and as a bonus, this reissue also includes both sides of their single recorded in 1972 during the reformation of the group under the name of Checkers who drifted into a more prog pop style of rock ‘n roll. The record includes a detailed history of the group and never before published photos of the band as well. These are pretty hard to find and limited to only 500 copies world wide.
