Pale Lips- Wanna Be Bad LP.  Sometimes it only takes a few words for a band to describe themselves and when I saw Pale Lips referring to themselves as ‘drippy mascara slopped rock n roll with sprinkles’ I had a feeling I could get down with ‘em. After a fun single on No Front Teeth, Montreal’s Pale Lips fire back with their debut LP ‘Wanna Be Bad’. These chicks are like the 21st century's answer to The Ramones with sugarey bubblecum pop hooks and songs that are simple, short and most importantly just allota fun. I mean pretty hard to go wrong with song titles like “Queen Of Sparks”, “Riff Raff” and “Mary-Lou Sniffin’ Glue”. Their sound is an amalgamation of 1-2-3-4 Ramones-ey spastic punk tunes inserspersed with a few straight up rough around the edges Joan Jett style rockers. They throw in a few cool Chuck Berry riffs here and there and have a healthy dose of that sassy Bobbyteens all-girl gang vocal action. This is a fun one. Recommended.

The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs- One More Drink LP ~RAINBOW SPLATTER SPECIAL EDITION LIMITED TO 100!

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
