Mcqqeen- II CS Tape. Mcqqeen is a noisy punk band from Athens, GA. The quartet’s sophomore release, ‘II’, finds them shedding the garage-punk roots with the addition of a new rhythm section to create a sound that is equal parts sinister and catchy. They balance groovy misanthropic dissonance and taut downstroke riffage, all drenched in a bath of psychedelic reverb. The band began as a songwriting outlet for frontman/guitarist Al O Vera of Shaved Christ and Shade and was later joined by a few others including Cole Johnson of Coma Therapy to round out the lineup, which finds the band at their loudest and noisiest. Mcqqeen's 'II' is a kaleidoscopic panorama of psychedelic noise punk that fans of the classic Amphetamine Reptile sound of the Jesus Lizard, Halo Of Flies, Tar and the Cosmic Psychos will be all over.
