Indonesian Junk- Stars In The Night LP ~KILLER!
Indonesian Junk- Stars In The Night LP. Big hooks and big riffs is what Indonesian Junk are all about. Hailing from the land of Lenny and Squiggy, this Milwaukee trio takes the best elements of glam, punk, heavy metal, and power pop, while ditching the fluff to create a tuff n' catchy blast of instant classics. They're frequently compared to the 1970s New York underground and they nicked their name from a Cheap Trick lyric about some of the shadier activities some certain members of society might like to partake in. Simply put, this record is juts filled with hits. "Tonight" is the closest Indonesian Junk has ever come to a pure power pop song, and "Turn To Stone" is a first class solo Stiv Bators-ish ripper. But while the poppier songs on this album are amazing (good luck getting "Why Did I Call You" out of your head anytime soon!), but that's only the half of it! "Stars" is a loving tribute to Nikki Sudden and quite possibly the best song Daniel has ever written and "Slow Down" is like a sonic teleportation back to the hey day of Max's Kansas City. This album has everything I love about '70s punk, glam, pop, and good old filthy rock n' roll all rolled together and spat out in a wonderful and totally original way. Recommended.

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
