Hollywood Stars- Starstruck LP. Long standing Hollywood band best known for penning the hit ‘King Of The Nighttime World’ in 1974 later covered by KISS in 1976. ‘Starstruck’ is the newest Hollywood Stars album containing 11 tracks and there isn't an ounce of filler here. "I Had A Girlfriend" atypically harkens back to the mid-60s British R&B boom, but the rest is a cross between Dwight Twilley-style power pop and the skinny tie days of Blondie and The Cars, with smidgens of Cheap Trick and The Glitter Band throughout. Some serious hits here and this is definitely a contender for best powerpop album of the year with great production by Paul Roessler of the Screamers. These are on the limited opaque white wax. Recommended.
