Geoff Useless- Don’t Stop LP.  Geoff Useless has long been a master of ultra-catchy poppy punk, power-pop and rock ‘n roll in bands like The Connection, The Queers, The Nobodys and The Guts. But on “Don’t Stop” he momentarily sheds his pop punk and rock ‘n roll affinities and indulges in his country side, adding a lot of twang (with some pedal steel, fiddle, and acoustic guitars) on a collection of bright, uber catchy cowpunk tunes. While the instrumentation and arrangements go country, Geoff’s adolescent vocals still sell the tunes and his lyrical wit remains intact. Geoff throws in a Beatles cover (“I’ve Just Seen A Face”) and a Guts cover (“Easy Come, Easy Go,”) and there are still traces of Geoff’s rock ‘n roll proclivities in the super catchy guitar hooks and you can hear traces of his pop punk past on some of the backup vocals and power-pop choruses. As a longtime Geoff Useless fan, who doesn’t particularly listen to alot of country, I thoroughly enjoyed this record. It’s also worth noting that the production on this thing is flawless and really makes the songs shine. THIS IS THE LIMITED VERSION OF THIS LP ON RED WAX!
