Fire Exit- Religion Is The Biggest Cause Of War CD ~REISSUE!
Fire Exit- Religion Is The Biggest Cause Of War CD. Glasgow's FIRE EXIT booked themselves into Pat Collier's Alaska Studios in Waterloo, London in 1978 who recorded alot of the first wave punk bands of the time as he was the bassist in The Vibrators. An instant bond was formed between Pat and Fire Exit as he knew what sort of sound that FIRE EXIT was trying to achieve. A few months later in '79, their debut 7” hit the streets including two self penned classics 'Timewall' backed with 'Talking 'Bout Myself' on the band's own 'Timebomb Explosions' label. It was well received and after several plays by the late great John Peel, over 2500 copies were sold in just over three weeks! The single peaked at #21 in the Alternative charts which was a real achievement from this unknown band from the north of London. The band has existed on and off for over 30 years and this nice looking reissue includes those two original Fire Exit songs along with many later Fire Exit recordings from the late 70s onward. It's all solid, rough-edged, melodic-to-anthemic guitar-punk harnessed by the charismatic frontman Gerry Attrick's snotty hollerin' vocals (which often sound a lot like Lee Ving). 'We Hated Skool' sounds especially great. UK import.

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
