Die Ersten Menschen- Apocalypse Now & Then LP. Most likely, the first thing you'll think of when you put this record on is the Black Lips debut album. But it would be unfair to call this band a copycat act for surely these boys have an ability to hold their own when it comes to writing catchy yet dark songs. Even though they do hint at the `60s both in the instrumentation and melodies, the band doesn't go out of its way to replicate the sound of that era. No cheesy organ here or caricatural singing, just an urge to play raw and energetic garage punk with the right influences and a good amount of distortion and reverb. If you love stuff like early BLACK LIPS, HYPSTRZ, HENTCHMEN, this is definately for you. Mastered by Tim Warren from Crypt Records.
