Blades- Surf City Punk Rock LP ~1979/1980 DEMO!
Blades- Surf City Punk Rock LP. Archival release of a long-lost 1979/1980 ten song recording session from this Huntington Beach punk band. The Blades never released anything other than 3 songs on the legendary BYO Compilation ‘Someone Got Their Head Kicked In’ compilation, so I think that this definitely meets the qualifications for a true obscurity. Much like the recently-unearthed recordings from Der Stab, this thing absolutely blazes in the way that only music from this time and place could. It's kind of remarkable that the recording session has such an early date... I would have pegged The Blades as practically worshipping early TSOL, but they must have formed around the same time or perhaps even earlier. Without a doubt, though, this is something harder, faster, and more streamlined than the Masque era of Southern California punk, but with plenty of the tunefulness of bands like TSOL, the Adolescents, and early Social Distortion. The recording is pretty clear and powerful in that way that many cleanly-done analog recordings from the era tend to be. It’s also worth noting that one of the songs, ‘Had Enough’, was later re-recorded and release on the ‘Someone Got Their Head Kicked In’ LP, and the other 9 songs predated that compilation and are released here for the first time. A very cool listen for anyone with more than a passing interest in early 80s SoCal hardcore. The LP includes a two sided insert with a bunch of flyers showing they played alot with Youth Brigade, China White, No Crisis, TSOL, Fear, Cricle Jerks and Legal Weapon back in the day. Import from the Netherlands.

The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs- One More Drink LP ~RAINBOW SPLATTER SPECIAL EDITION LIMITED TO 100!
Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
