Amoebas- Telephone 7”.  Amoebas are one of the Midwest's best kept secrets and this single is exactly what I was hoping for...a good old-fashioned, two song, big hole, 45 RPM ripper. It's got two new tracks of their classic UK via New York influenced ‘77 style punk rock and the packaging on this thing is ace. The glossy cardboard sleeve has only a small, round sticker in the corner identifying its contents. The center of the sleeve is also cut out to expose the printing on the record's label. The A-side looks like the dial on a rotary phone (ask your parents, kids) and the B-side features a pin-up girl speaking on said vintage phone. The packaging shows a good eye for detail and matches the quality of the song writing. "Telephone" is a super catchy Ramones sounding buzz popper with Dead Boys lead guitar swagger. "Ain't About Her" on the flip is the faster of the two and sounds like a spastic Buzzcocks ‘77 swinger. Recommended.

The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs- One More Drink LP ~RAINBOW SPLATTER SPECIAL EDITION LIMITED TO 100!

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
