Routes- Dirty Needles And Pins LP ~RARE GREEN / PINK SPLATTER WAX!
Routes- Dirty Needles And Pins LP. ‘Dirty Needles and Pins’ is the sixth studio album from Japan’s The Routes and it’s full of the psychedelic sounds you've come to expect from this great band. Some bands are adept at grabbing the listener's attention immediately and The Routes are definitely one of those bands. They succeed at this from the opening notes of "You'll See". It starts with some vibrant bars of fuzzy, psychedelic guitar work and then the beat comes in like an explosion along with Christopher Jack's sneering, reverberating vocals. From the first notes to the last, this song is a throwback to 60s garage rock played fierce, fuzzed and rockin. That song is a good indicator of what's to come, as "I Ain't Convinced" is another song that just explodes with raw, psychedelic sounds. In addition to the wonderfully fuzzy tones, you also get a guitar solo in this one. It’s fast and raucous just the way a guitar solo should be played. The lyrics kind of sneak up on you because of the volume of the song, but they definately attack with lyrics about not being unable to trust someone and seeing right through them. Another highlight is "My Hardened Skin" which has a richly textured sound with two guitars providing a different layering of instrumentation. The rhythm guitar provides a nice counter to the upbeat, fuzzy, psychedelic lead and they both work in harmony as you feel the sounds swirling around you. Another strong album from one of Japan’s finest exports with cool looking cover art by Mik Baro. The LP includes a two sided insert lyrics sheet and THIS IS THE LIMITED VERSION OF THIS LP ON GREEN AND PINK SPLATTER WAX!
