Richmond Sluts- 60 Cycles Of Love LP ~DELUXE COLORED EDITION!
Richmond Sluts- 60 Cycles Of Love LP. The Richmond Sluts may hail from San Francisco, but their hearts are far off in New York City, while their heads are stuck in other decades entirely. It would be easy to laud the quartet as the best glam trash band since the New York Dolls, but they’re definitely more than that. They’re a rock ‘n roll band to the bone with a big punk rock heart, but that doesn't begin to encompass all the different facets of this ever puzzling band. The Sluts connect the dots between '60s garage punk and old school '70s riff ‘n roll. Variations on that recipe reverberate across the entire album and the song writing on this record is top notch. On one song they sound like the Dolls if they morphed into a psychedelic band. On another tune they sound like a cross between the Cramps and the Velvet Underground and on another track it sounds like Richard Hell jumped into a time machine back to 1968. All that and a few subtle nods to Eddie & the Hotrods, the Flamin’ Groovies and the Sonics Rendezvous Band as they put their own unique stamp on the genre. In terms of newer bands playing straight up Punk fused Rock ‘n Roll, the Richmond Sluts are definitely right up there with Dr. Boogie. Recommended. As the sticker on the front says these are copies of the DELUXE COLRED EDITION! So your copy will be on a different shade of colored vinyl as they were pressed on a variety of different colors. Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
