Wild Billy Childish & CTMF - Brave Protector LP. Devised and released to coincide with CTMF’s recent shows in Oakland, ‘Brave Protector’ serves as a semi-souvenir of that weekend-long happening. This album is a recently-recorded album by the Wild Billy Childish of many of his favorites, spanning several of his prior bands, all performed with enough immediacy to prompt notice. I’m a lifelong fan, having long ago committed many of these songs to memory with almost sickening devotion, and I still think this performance and this collection is urgent and pretty essential. A personal sweat affair too as each cover is hand-stamped, artist-assembled and sold mainly at those shows around Oakland and we were able to get a hand full. Each cover is different and unique and the LP includes an insert.
