Beggar- It Beggars Belief CD.  After many years of searching for the elusive members of the Mod band Beggar, Detour Records was finally able to track ‘em all down! If you’re not in the know Beggar were right at the forefront of the 70's Mod revival with counterparts like Secret Affair, The Chords, The Purple Hearts, The Mods & the Small Hours. They played on the legendary Mods Mayday Album, thanks to Terry Murphy, and even had their own residency at the classic Saxon House in Walthamstow. After coroborating with all of the band members Beggar were able to dig up two long lost cassette tapes, a couple old photo albums and a scrapbook to create this exceptional reissue. Those two tapes featured 16 studio tracks that were recorded between 1978 / 1979 and were originally recorded for a record deal that eventually fell apart. These songs haven’t been heard in over 30 years and have been remastered for this release and they’re all here. This deluxe reissue includes some very cool looking old photos with extensive liner notes by Beggar’s drummer Mike Slocombe. UK import.
