Candy Snatchers / Cheap Dates - Split CD. This CD has a pretty interesting story. This disc was originally set to document two 10” records that were to have came out on the now defunct Man’s Ruin record label owned and operated by graphic designer / artist Frank Kozik. The Cheap Dates were a burly, raunchy riff ‘n roll troupe from San Francisco that made some waves near the tail end of the 90’s and include Jason White from the Rip Offs. Man’s Ruin released the Cheap Dates -Ten Hit Songs 10” in 1998 and those 10 tracks are reissues here. The Candy Snatchers were set to release an 8 song 10”, also on Man’s Ruin, but that project made it to the test pressing stage, but was never released because of the financial issues that the label was sustaining at the time. The 8 songs that were originally set to be released on that 10” are included here along with ‘Run You Down’ that was later released on the Candy Snatchers split 7” with Nashville Pussy. 9 Candy Snatchers tracks in all, on this split CD, including an insane cover of the Kids ‘This Is Rock ‘n Roll.’ If you’re a Candy Snatchers fan, you need this. This is one of the last releases that Man’s Ruin released before going out of business.
