Fire Heads- S/T LP. Brand new album from Fire Heads (formerly Fire Retarded) who’ve toughened up their sound to a slashed-knuckle punk rock rumble on this new record. For those not in the know, Fire Heads are a garage-punk band outta Wisconsin featuring a couple members of The Hussy, Cave Curse and Dumb Vision. Fire Heads is clearly the work of seasoned professionals, dudes who have spent years working toward being in a band as tight, taut and blazing as Fire Heads since they got their first musical instruments as teenagers. They’re like an amped-up Saints for the most part, executing these twelve tracks with authority and confidence, completely disregarding the fact that the majority of the world has moved on from rock bands. “Forgot It Now” is snapped into an aggro punk strain that would sit pretty easily next to fellow Midwestern shred lord Timmy Vulgar. The song is teetering on the edge and ready to blow bolts at any time and almost every song on this LP yields a similar power. If you’ve never heard Fire Heads before, this is a good place to start. Recommended.
