For his sixth album, ‘Misfit’, he embarked on a twelve-day road trip from Los Angeles to Death Valley, where he lived as an imaginary character on a quest to “become nothing.” “Everyday during his journey, he woke up at 6:30 AM and wrote a new entry to the diary of this imaginary character that would become a song. And before going to sleep he would always try to write a new song. He says “I wanted to write songs that were influenced by the desert, by its heat, by the suffering of this quest, and by this man.” This cinematic concept album was recorded at the famed Rancho de Luna studio in Joshua Tree and would eventually become this album ‘Misfit’.
