Fourth studio album by Montreal-based band Sonic Avenues. ‘Disconnector ‘ sees the band drawing its drive, dynamics, and lyrical content from a desire to diverge from formulatic songwriting. This album is extremely complex musically and there’s so much you can take from each song. While the band’s punk roots are still evident, various tempo changes and song structures mix things up. And there isn’t a single throwaway track on this album. Everything is sort of a surprise, you’re never really expecting what comes next. The transitions from track to track are perfect and the flow is spot on. It’s a pretty diverse album worth digging into if you like anything from the the Lost Sounds, Pointed Sticks, Gary Numan, solo Jay Reatard or Flock Of Seagulls.
