Colour Bük- Dethkill 7”. Colour Bük are back with another totally left-field out of this world noise punk onslaught that continues to lay their claim as being one of the most perverse bands operating on the east coast. The music on this dark 7-inch is one of my favorite oddities of this year. NY's Colour Bük graduated from the school of Drunks With Guns/Unsane/Homostupids/Brainbombs and belt out this completely grim, warped and disturbing single. They tear through 4 bruising noise punk blasts on the A-side backed with a heavy as fuck sludgey ripper on the flip. The whole thing is a pretty filthy and fairly ferocious ear bludgeoning, especially the second track which alternates between a swampy verse and rapid-fire barks in the vocals. Definitely a direction I didn't exactly expect from Colour Bük, but one that makes weird sense somehow. I prefer the more noise-punk oriented songs with completely serating guitars and overall it’s a pretty delightful sludge-bath of a listen, especially the repetitive and ungodly b-side "Slumlord."
