Sick Things- S/T CD ~HELLACOPTERS / KILLER!
Sick Things- S/T CD. Holy smokes I’m floored, this album is amazing! In a time when so many bands pull from a wide range of different musical styles, it’s refreshing to hear a band hone in on one specific genre and dominate it playing good ‘ol fashioned ear splittin’ Rock ‘n Fuckin’ Roll. Ladies and gentlemen, the Sick Things have arrived! On their ‘Self-Titled’ debut album, this Montreal four-piece knocks eleven raw, unbridled Rock ‘n Roll diamonds straight outta the park with ease. Their potent blend of vintage instruments, retro song writing and contemporary production make their sound incredibly catchy and versatilely unique. It’s a whirlwind of big choruses, long hair flying everywhere and songs with monstrous hooks fired off with red hot guitar licks and blazing friggin’ solos that seem to materialize out of thin air every 15 seconds or so. And don’t even get me started on the Thin Lizzy-esque dual guitar leads that totally rule. This album is loaded with hits including eleven perfect ear shots of Power Poppin' Rock n' Roll showcasing an energized combination of attitude, power, creativity and skill. Think a roaring combination of Kiss, Cheap Trick, the Hellacopters, the Cars, the MC5 and the Plimsouls with a rugged Power Pop veneer. A powder-keg of electricity all over this supercharged sonic scorcher.

Los Angeles' the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs spew a raw, undistilled slab of sweet ‘n nasty sonic tonic on their 7th studio album 'One More Drink'. The Cheetahs reignite the raw Detroit sounds of the the Stooges and fellow down under countrymen Radio Birdman blasting through 11 red-hot tracks of over-amplified nihilism showing even further dexterity in the world of thick riffs and song writing versatility. ‘One More Drink’ sounds like the good kind of mid 70’s pre-punk Riff 'n Roll record hopped-up on a heavy dose of classic 80's, white lightnin’ radio Rock. They mix an absolutely perfect Rock 'n Roll cocktail here...
