The Types- Chicks & Tricks LP. The Types are a primitive rock ‘n roll band from Russia. These guys play a down and dirty brand of garage rock with a definite emphasis on hooks. The listener is treated to 13 stellar tracks from a band that you can tell has a sizable knowledge of '50s and '60s rock ‘n roll. Not the totally cleanest sounding recording and I think that kinda works in their favor. The Types play it mid to fast tempo with chunky guitar solos and the farfisa helps drive most of these sex-drenched rock ‘n rollers. They come at ya with boundless energy and enthusiasm with a cheeky sense of humor as they blast through these 13 screaming tracks. It's refreshing to hear a band that realizes that rock & roll is supposed to be fun. Reminded me a little of Canada’s Les Sexareenos on a few tracks. Import from Germany.
