PHANTOM LIGHTS- 'Chordae Tendinae' 10".  All start line up here including long standing female contributors to the Portland art/punk/rock n roll over the last few years.  The band conatains Sarah Epstein fromThe Hunches, Manisone Ratts from Pizza Party and Amy Sabin from Krav Maga,the Units, and the Slips.  For my money, the Phantom Lights are one of the the best all-girl band in Portland. But wait a minute, since I don't have much money, I guess that would mean the Phantom Lights are all that much more impressive, right? Yeah, I think so! The three ladies trade instruments, each takes turns at the mic, and every permutation spits out its own inky signature, from dark '80s pop and punky garage to some dissident, spaced-out sh**t.  Brings to mind some of the early femme Kill Rock Stars alumni like Huggy Bear and Bikini Kill with a bit more rock n roll angst, and less femme PC BS.  Pretty much the only way you're not going to dig the Phantom Lights is if you hate girls or rock 'n' roll. And in that case, I hate you!!  LIMITED PRESSING OF 500 COPIES ALL ON BLACK WAX!!
